Attached Garage ‘Engulfed In Flames’ Prompts Investigation: Batavia FD

BATAVIA, IL — An investigation has been initiated after a fire broke out at a house in the 1800 block of Wagner Road early Tuesday morning, officials said.

Batavia firefighters responded to the structure fire at 2 a.m. when they found a three-car attached garage “engulfed in flames.” After searching the property, first responders determined all occupants had safely evacuated after searching the property, officials said.

Although crews were able to contain the fire in the garage, the fire still caused “extensive” damage and forced residents to relocate with family, according to officials.
